Only 49 years since his first album. I'm glad he's still around to enjoy it. Well deserved, indeed.

This is one "EMMY" award that didn't need to be "fixed", he deserved it some time ago. I assume Steve Goodman (John Prine's friend and fellow writer) has already been honored!

Actually, he hasn't...I checked WikiPedia...a lot of folks had been around a long time before they got recognized...

I watched the whole show mainly for that few moments Bonnie Raitt got to congratulate him. Glad he got the ovation.

A well deserved honor. Glad it wasn't posthumous.

Well deserved! Struggling to think of another musician with such a consistently excellent discography.

Definitely well deserved for John Prine. I think Gordon Lightfoot would qualify for one as well. I know he has won some lifetime achievement awards in Canada, but not sure about one from the Grammys.

Surprised the Grammy committee has even heard of John Prine. Glad he is getting the recognition he deserves.

These award shows are wondering why they aren't drawing a very large audience.

Look no farther than Gordon Lightfoot and Steve Goodman's treatments and what we, the fans, think of the "awards".

I am pickled tink that Goodman is in the midst of a resurgence thanks to the re-release of his final four albums. And Lightfoot has a solo album coming out in March...
