Gorgeous, mint, Michael Bashkin showpiece. This beauty was first on display at the 2015 Memphis Guitar Show, prior to residing on display at the Red Rocks Amphitheater Museum in Colorado Springs for one year. The guitar was first sold at the 2016 Santa Barbara Guitar Show. I am the second owner.

Michael Bashkin said about this guitar, "That #127 OM is a guitar that really stood out for me. It is more of a vintage, dry woody tone with a lot of power for a smaller guitar."

The guitar is very smooth sounding, very warm and an absolute pleasure to play. To augment what Michael Bashkin says above, the guitar has an incredible clarity across the tonal spectrum, without an abundance of overtones. My opinion is that it is because it is a light build. As to Michael's statement about being a smaller guitar, please note that the lower bout measures 15 5/16", larger than an Olson SJ or McAlister 000-28. A perfect size.

Notes Michael Bashkin brings a unique vision and sensibility to the art of guitar-building – a philosophy that crystalized during his years teaching tropical forestry in Belize, Central America. Michael’s approach is holistic, merging his experience as a visual artist, a musician and a lifelong student of wood.*Michael is also a scientist whose graduate studies at Colorado State University and post-graduate research at Duke University taught him about the mechanics of wood. He knows where wood has come from and how it’s evolving. He has studied the way trees are responding to climate change – and how the wood harvested from them can be sculpted and assembled to respond to energy in certain, very special ways. Bashkin uses 3/16" compensated saddles and 8 degree back angle on saddle slot. Guitars have a 25' radius on top and 15' radius on bottom. Hide glue is used. This guitar was on display at Memphis Guitar show in June 2015, then for a year at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, before being taken to Santa Barbara Guitar Show for sale in 2016 where it sold in Sept 2016. Rosette & headstock effect is achieved by using a marquetry technique & burning the wood in hot sand.

Got to meet Michael and play three of his guitars at Woodstock this past weekend and wow - this is alot of guitar for the money. I get the feeling Michaels guitars are going to go up quite a bit in the next 10 years considering how solid his reputation is. There was a ton of great guitars in that room but the sound of his really stood out to me.
