My small setup:

*actually my small setup is the top speaker, no sub, and no monitor. Either way, I'm in and out in one trip via a Rock N Roller RT12 Cart, and set up between 10-15 minutes depending on wether I'm running 1 or 2 speakers and a sub.

I'd love to be able to gig a 15lb battery powered speaker though. I'm envious of some of you at load in/out!

My small setup is Adamas, Heil PR-35, mic/guitar stands in one bag, light bag containing two LED spots and various hanging hardware, JBL Eon One with TC Mic Mechanic and Body Rez.
One trip is all it takes.

I always read these threads cover to cover, because ever since my fist gigs in my early teens, I have been searching for ways to carry, transport, set up and (more importantly) tear down less.

There are three of us in my current project, I am the only guitarist. We play only one venue that has a fixed PA, so we pretty much carry everything we need for a gig, and this is how we pack it:

*A rolling soft-side suitcase for wires, mics, mixer, odds-n-ends.

*A long duffle with four folding mic stands (one used as a mixer stand)

*2 Bose L1Cs (2 base units and 2 speaker extension bags)

*1 guitar in gig bag

*1 soft shoulder bag for percussion instruments

Occasionally we will carry folding bar stools and/or fans depending on the situation. We used to combine the mic stands and the speaker extensions in one larger duffle (similar to The Kid’s pic above) but this proved to be a heavy and unwieldy package.

We are satisfied with what we carry, but we are constantly searching for ways to do with less.

As long as it's not too far, I load in/out in one trip
Pedal board - shown below fits in an old Roland amp bag perfectly with cables and mic
Guitar stand and speaker stand in the Hercules bag
Guitar (hybrid) and assorted necessary junk ie capos, pics, Swiss Army knife, spare T shirt etc all fit in the Gator gig bag
Yamaha Dbr10 in Gear4Us shoulder bag
I play small bars and patios up to 100 or so folk

Smallest setup -
1) BOSE S1 in slip cover(should have bought the backpack!)
2) Taylor w/K&K and Headway EDB2 in guitar case and BOSS WL20
3) Sears toolbox with all accessories/cables and headset mic/iPad
4) Stand for iPad

Setup for TRIO work (bass, lead guitar and me on guitar and vocals)
1) S1 in slipcover/Second S1 in Gator bag with all cables and cords
2) SEARS toolbox with all accessories including capos/extra cables/iPad etc
3) Taylor w/ K&K and either PRS Archtop or Brian Moore custom C90P
4) Pedalboards - either compact one with HX Stomp/medium with ToneDexter-MXR Chorus/Delay/Flanger or Large Pedalboard with Shure wireless headset system stacked on Audio 2000s IEM/Boss VE8 and RedEye Twin preamp.
5) Stands for mics/iPad stand
6) Either PV6 mixer or ZED10FX mixer if needed.

Depending on the floor space available, I can switch items between pedalboards. I can pull off the ToneDexter for small setup or just bring the medium board. I try to not get too hung up in the gear but reach that comfort zone that lets me know I have what I need so I can concentrate on playing and singing. These are basically classic rock cover gear setups.

I will try to take some pics.
I seem to have the same luck as our OP.

My wife and I both play guitar. She sings. Most of our gigs this century have been retirement homes.

From 2008 - 2018, our performance kit was:

- 1 red luggage on wheels that contained her Nilton music stand, mic & cable, extension cord and power strip, miscellaneous tools, her notebook, a bag of rhythm shakers (for audience participation) etc

- Her guitar stool, which I would prop onto the handle of the red luggage.

- SoloAmp (before they re-named it SA 220)

- Both of us carried our guitars on our back.

Never more than one trip.

I like to think of myself as a semi professional musician and not a semi professional carting service...

Mine looks a lot like gfirob’s except only one guitar unless i’m out on a road trip. Then two guitars.

This is very helpful. Clearly I could scale down the number of guitars, but variety is really important if you are one guy with one basic style for two hours. I could lose the one pelican with mixer/Play Acoustic/Tonedexter and just go with the Tonedexter into the SA220 and use the SA220 for reverb, and my voice the way god made it. And I do have a Fishman Loudbox Mini, which is way smaller and lighter than the SA220, and really fills most rooms by itself. Those little Bose units look nice and compact.

The SA220 rolls in its case, but it still weighs 45 pounds and requires a trip, with the other hand free to carry something else. I could use soft bags instead of the pelicans, (which themselves are heavy) but those pelicans are dust and water tight (snow tight in Vermont) stack and are very strong.

I love that alligator suitcase. And of course the dog...

I am thinking that some of this is psychological, that I just don't want to leave anything behind that might improve the performance. I really admire these very small lightweight setups.

Simply select medium or large size when selecting your photo. When you select your photo, look to the bottom right and look in "sizes". I usually use medium or large thumbnail. Delete the photo you have and go with medium thumbnail.
