Does the new generation read the Hardy Boys?
Who remembers these old Hardy Boys hardcover books? I had a bunch of then growing up. Great books. Now, they look very different (2nd pic). I guess that means they're still popular?

Coincidentally, one of the plotlines in an episode of "Corner Gas" I just watched a couple of nights ago, was about how Davis, the police sergeant, is a huge fan of the Hardy Boys books (the ones in the show had the style of cover shown in the top picture).
Not exactly the new generation maybe. Great show though.

I read ‘em but I’m 50. Haven’t seen any kids reading them in the last 30 years.

We bought a few of them for our Grandson. My favorite was "The Clue of the Screeching Owl."

They weren't part of my childhood, growing up in England. I was much more into such things as Biggles, and Swallows and Amazons. Our town library had many of the Bobbsey Twins books, however, and I loved those.

Growing up in the 50's and 60's I had those and my sisters had Nancy Drew. We read a lot of books back in those days and if we weren't reading we were outside playing.

No, my 12-year-old son loves them! We also donated an entire set to my school’s library and they are checked out regularly. This generation needs a lot more stuff like the Hardy boys. |

I read every one of them. Brings back very fond memories.

I remember them from back in the day, but I don't think I read more than one or two of them. I do recall reading Encyclopedia Brown.

I read most of them when I was young. I'm almost 47 now. Great memories. They were well written and engaging.

Read my dad’s from 1930s, and loved the TV show. This was back in 1950s early 60s. Don’t know about nowadays. Probably not very reflective of things now.

My 12 year old grandson read several when he was 10 and liked them. He probably wouldn’t have read them if my old ones hadn’t been at our house.

Read almost all of them in the late 70s/early 80s and really like the TV show in the 80s. Reading Nancy Drew books with my daughter now. That Nancy sure is some sleuth!
