SOLD: Santa Cruz 000-28 Custom *PRICE DROP* & TRADE
For Sale: Mint 2014 Santa Cruz SCGC Custom 000-28 Acoustic Guitar Vintage Amber "Buttered Toast"
This took about a year to have custom built, using a stash of gorgeous old-growth flamed mahogany. This has "the works", including hot hide glue, Italian spruce top, Adirondack "adi" bracing, gloss finish ($200 upcharge), gloss/buffed neck option, tortoise and rope over tortoise bindings, short-scale, vintage-style neck profile, short-pattern fretboard inlays, and the spectacular finish: vintage amber buttered toast. The nut is 1 3/4". String spacing at bridge is 2.25". Heavy-duty Ameritage case. Currently strung with SCGC Parabolic Tension strings. It has been a case queen, and unfortunately, I am forced to sell. NOTE: The first picture is the best example of the "buttered toast" finish, which was hard to capture fully in my pictures. The pic was obtained from SCGC, but is not the actual guitar, but does a better job of depicting the finish. Asking $6200 net. Reduced to $6000 net. Will consider trade/partial trade for prewar small-bodied Martins. Last edited by Katonk; 04-06-2019 at 10:45 AM. Reason: SOLD |

That's the prettiest Mahogany I've ever seen. What a special guitar this must be.

I find it difficult to describe a guitar's sound. I will say that it is quite balanced, and even though it is "new" in terms of playing time, it does sound "better" to my ears than my '46 Martin 000-28 (although we shall see after a reset is performed on the latter). I can state that this SC 000-28 is an absolute stunner in person. The flamed 'hog is gorgeous.
