One Bourbon, one Scotch, one....what is your favorite sipping whisky or whiskey?
I would say for right now it is High West Campfire.

Within the last year, I have had to cease drink for health reasons. I take it seriously since alcohol can nulify the positive effects of my meds.
Before that... I have been a long time Irish and Scotch whiskey drinker. I found both Celtic whiskeys far superior to American offerings. American whiskey is harsh. I guess that's because Americans are relative beginners. As for the Irish and Scotch, a favorite? That's hard. There are many good ones. One I liked a lot, sort of an everyday choice... I thought it to be underrated, is Tullamore Dew. |

Bourbon.
I've had a few over the years, but Bulliet seems to be the go to for me. Makes a great Manhattan.

Glenlivet. Occasionally with a dash of Drambuie.

The smokehouse for the 'Dear Johnny' from these guys is in my backyard so I stick with their products. I mean literally in my back yard. They're friends of ours.

I live not far from a small batch distillery called Griffo's. They have an excellent bourbon. I am also fond of Knob Creek, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

20 years ago we bought a boat named Tullamore Dew. It is said to be bad luck to change a boat's name, but our kids were young and I'm not much for whisky, so we did. But in the meantime I picked up a bottle to try it. That boat is long gone, but the other day I found the bottle and gave it a go. Not bad, but for sipping I prefer this, especially the toasted coconut

Irish for me, lately. I used to drink Canadian blends, then USA bourbon, then single malt Scotch, and I've finally come to the Nirvana of whiskeys from the Emerald Isle. Tullamore Dew, Jameson, Bushmills, and others when I can find 'em.

Macallan 18 is the favorite but with price increases over the past 5 years, I don't bring it out as often as I used to. For "sipping" Scotch (which for me would be regularly used rather than special occasion) would be Glenlivet 18. For Bourbon it would be Weller or Bulleit.

I tend to like fine sipping rums and single malt scotches. I enjoy them “neat”. I don’t indulge all too often, but when I do partake, lately I’m quite liking Ron Zacapa Centenario premium rum, and Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 y/o scotch.
Cheers!
