I have a 2006 Taylor GS which has a cracked neck, located in the heel. It's still strung and, at least for now is holding tune. Is this a repair I should have done locally or should I send it to Taylor. Since this is in a strategic location, can the neck even be repaired satisfactorily, or am I looking at a new neck?
The crack is parallel to the fingerboard, if that makes sense. . .I have a pic but I haven't posted on this forum since 2007 and I'm not sure how to insert images from my hard drive - any help greatly appreciated. |

I'd start by removing the string tension. Then, I'd contact Taylor for warranty work. It's probably covered. It should be easily repairable.

I've sent them an email and the pic. Haven't yet heard back. I'm not the original owner, so warranty may not transfer. Not sure how Taylor handles that (???)
