How do I play Dadd4??

This chord (Dadd4) is in the chords shown for Dylan's It Ain't Me Babe in The Little Black Songbook. It is not diagrammed in the back of the book and I can't find a diagram anywhere. My music theory is thin (at best) so I am at a loss.

Play any D chord you want and add a G.

Here's an option, though I might be more correct to call it a Dsus4, since there's no 3rd (F#)

This is certainly an accurate way to play a Dadd4, but it might be tough to play that A on the 1st string. I suspect that the most common way to play a Dadd4 is X54030 or X5403X (basically sliding a C chord up two frets). Neither of these have the 5th, so they're not complete. However, they both have the 4th and 3rd and give the desired dissonance. Depending on the song, I would highly suspect that this is what they mean.

But it's not necessary, truly...but if you add that high E, it's not a Dadd4 anymore.

True. However, I suspect that many people would play it that way (X54030) and still call it a Dadd4.

In reality, I suspect most people simply slide a C chord up two frets, play X5403X and call it a Dadd4 because that's the easiest name to give it (well, they might call it a D4).
