Telecaster Neck ?
Howdy, Looking for a good Telecaster Neck for a project I am building. Budget build, so looking for something that won't break the bank. Would like a rosewood fret board, but beggars can't be choosy....
So where would you suggest I look ? Thanks Bill |

Here's one site where they sell new and used necks and parts. Prices can go from decent to very expensive. Looks like they have some new Mighty Mite necks for $89.
https://stratosphereparts.com/ Edit: Stewmac also sells necks. http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and...le_Guitar.html |

Hopefully someone will chime in on the quality of Mighty Mite necks. I've never played one before.
I ordered a neck from Warmoth before and they're great necks. I didn't include it in my original post because they can be expensive. You can have it custom made to whatever specs you want including fretwire. http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/GuitarNecks.aspx Edit: This link shows what they currently have in stock with the price: http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/Classic...Path=Spotlight |

I'm not familiar with GFS necks but lots of people like their pickups as a low cost alternative. I think I'm going to order one of their pickups in another week or two just to try them out.

I have used some of the GFS pickups, and have been very pleased with them.
I like the looks of the Strat headstock better than the Tele. So might put a 22 fret stratneck on the Tele body. Last edited by wildbill1962; 02-25-2018 at 06:57 PM. |

The only caveats are that the finish was just a cheap sealer coat and the nut they supplied was a joke. I made a new nut with the Tusq 'Trem nut' material; I sanded the finish down to bare wood (after masking the fretboard) and sprayed several coats of nitro. I had to "card" the runs flat (nitro is very thin and a bee-atch to spray) and sand between coats, finally finishing with a nice polish, using 1500 grit wet/dry paper and spit....mmm silky! It took some work, but it was worth it.

I’ve used GuitarFetish parts on a few guitars and highly recommend them. I built an awesome Les Paul with one of their body\neck combos. Great neck with leveled frets - no work required.
