Default Do Taylor inlays ever fade?

My K14ce came in today and it was love at first sight. The inlays are absolutely stupendous and I can't stop looking at them.

For Taylor owners who may have an older model Taylor with the shiny inlays, is it a realistic fear for the shine to fade? I've always only wiped down my fret board after a string change and have never used any fancy oils or anything like that. Any tips to help sustain them for many many years to come? Is this an unwarranted fear when it comes to high end Taylors or am I just being overly concerned over naught?

When you drop 5 grand on a guitar, you ask these types of questions lol.

Thanks!

I have never heard of this being a problem. I have owned Taylors as old as 2002 and 2007 and did not experience a problem.

Unless Taylor uses some sort of proprietary material I would think it would have manifest itself on other brands as well.

The inlays on my 1999 K14c (build started the last day of production of the century) look the same as the day I took delivery of the guitar in January of 2000. They are abalone. The guitar commemorated my wife's and my 20th anniversary. You know what that means...
