String gauges
Just bought a new tenor and the scale length is*22.75". Can I still*use gauges as per the 23" guitars or is it a full recalculation job? I generally use Ry Cooder's excellent chart:*http://rycooder.nl/pages/tenor_gauges.htm
I know 1/4 inch isn't much but am aware this is a precise business. All answers/suggestions gratefully received Simon* |

This site will allow to to key in your exact scale length as well as your desired string tension/feel, both individual and overall:

I wouldn't worry. The string tension will be a little lower since your scale is 1/4" (or about 1%) shorter.
