Default 1972 progressive bluegrass

The Sounds of The Second Edition

I grew up idolizing my older cousin, Jim Smith for his guitar playing and general coolness!

In 1972, Jim and the boys recorded this album in someone's basement as they jokingly referred to the studio while bemoaning the sound quality.

Everyone in our extended family got a copy for Christmas that year.

Some very creative takes on some of the contemporary songs of the day and some bluegrass traditionals.

Enjoy!

Very nice, and it sounds like they were really having a good time.

Thanks for the link. I just finished the album and enjoyed it. Well done arrangements of those Beatle chestnuts - though they were not really "chestnuts" back in '72. Neither was I, come to think of it.
