Thumbs up From an avid acoustic guitar, I've found a new appreciation for electric guitars

I meant the title to say from an avid acoustic guitar nut or fan.

I found this combo of electric guitar and amp. Its as inspiring to play as the best acoustics I've played!! The tone draws you in and keeps you playing and creating!! A shout out to Top Hat Amps and Gretsch Guitars!!!!

Did you get them as a package? That guitar goes for 2600 minimum around these parts. If you got a deal, you got a deal!

THIS is your rig as a brand new electric player???? MAN, that is a sweet rig! That TopHat is one nice amp! Is it a 15 watt AC15 clone? This will be a nice experiment for you. Playing electric and acoustic is apples and oranges different, but I find playing either creates growth in both. Enjoy!

Sweet! I'm guessing you're not new to electrics, but that you just found a new appreciation for them ... right?

That is correct. I am new to Top Hat Amps but not Gretsch guitars. I bought them separate. I've had the guitar for some time but I bought the amp about a month ago.

Is the Top Hat EL84? It was naive of me to think this wool be your "starter rig"

It can use 6V6, 6L6 or EL84s. Its a Super Deluxe Mk2 all class A. I currently have 6L6's in it which I prefer. I have tried EL84s which I keep as backups. They sound good as well.

Its 20 Watts with 6V6s
33 with 6L6s
35 with EL84s

It has a Celestion Blue and a G12H Anniversary Vintage 30.

Gut shot

Nice guitar man! I find it interesting how people get so picky about the difference between the two instruments. They both have their draws

I thought it was too strange to be able to do 6L6's and EL84's. That would be some crazy circuit work!
