Basically you're just after a light overdrive pedal, or some kind of boost pedal for a slightly higher output amp. The tubescreamer is obviously a good option. Or check out the Carl Martin Plexitone. It does higher gain stuff too, but its crunch is to die for!

With 2 humbuckers pickups, there will be certain tones that are unattainable. Depending on the tone you're after and the urgency of achieving that tone, you may need to go guitar shopping. |

you'll have to take your guitar and amp to guitar center, sam ash or any other store that carries a wide range of overdrive pedals. play thru them all, twisting all the dials and knobs, then, take home the one you like.
play music!

IMO, pedals are good for effects, but to get a good bluesy sound you don't need a pedal. What you do need is good pickups and a good amp. My LP with mini humbuckers played thru my '66 Super Reverb does just that. However, even that is just part of it.
