For the most part my guitars are in their cases --- mostly to avoid any accidental knocking over of guitars. Cases are very accessible, so all my guitars are readily available in a matter of seconds.

I don't want to whine too much about having gotten older, but I will say that it's so much easier to play a guitar today if I don't have to take it out of a case. I consider myself lucky to be able to continue playing the guitar. - Glenn

5 on stands/2 on wall/2 in cases/rest scattered. i play every day or try to and i usually cycle through 4-5 of them daily.
almost always grab one of acoustics first either the fender cd 60 (warm sound) or ovation AE ( very very bright sound) next is always a classical last is one of the electrics usually (tele or frankenstrat) that depends on how motivated i am that day, otherwise the classicals stay in hand my 29 stewart is my only guitar i keep constantly in dadf#ad so only grab that one when feeling nostalgic or having a wobbly pop or 2

All 11 are out on 2 racks in my music room. Mild climate and no humidity issues. East facing room so the shutters are drawn at night. No problems in 20 years in this house

I don't mind leaving my main guitar out on stands. However, it's a carbon fiber guitar.

I'm surprised by the result of the poll so far, leaning toward casing. This issue has been debated since the beginning of time.
I'm a caser. Just who I have become over the years. I once left guitars out. Both acoustic and electric. When my Guild was knocked over and broken, years ago, I thought Hmmmm It had the strongest case I had ever seen at the time. And it still broke when being left out. My first electric was never in it's case. And, when I finally decided to bring it (1963 Fender Musicmaster) back to life. I learned how badly I had taken care of it. The rust and crust was not something I had come to love. Do I need my guitars to be pristine? Not by any means. But besides the breaking issue. Dust and funk buildup, causing screws not to turn. Tuners to bind. And just overall, nasty looking. I like my hardware to be clean. My frets to be polished and slick. And any moving parts to move freely. Do I like seeing guitars hanging on a wall? Sure. I'm a guitarist. Player/Collector/Tech. It's the Tech. part of me that likes to toil over setup and intonation and ease of playability. The time I spend getting everything just so. Will last longer if kept in a case. If I could afford a guitar tech to keep all my guitars looking, and playing in top shape. I wouldn't worry so much about it. But wait. I keep mine in their case, so I don't have to worry about them. |

But to answer Wade's question, I have wall hangers for my three guitars but whichever one is currently being played the most usually gets left on a stand near where I sit. At the moment that's a Tele, so not sure if it counts... |

I leave one guitar out...whichever one I am wanting to play more frequently for a while. But not usually the most expensive guitar.

Just my Epi EJ-160E. Just for quick stuff. Always at arms length.

I always have 1 guitar out on a stand in my living room, the rest are always in cases. The guitar I leave out has no relation to cost or value. It’s simply the one I feel like playing while hanging out in my living room.
