Default County Cork {original Celtic air}

This is an original in DADGAD, played on a Furch Yellow Gc-CR. My wife's family is originally from County Cork, Ireland.

This was recorded with a Rodes NT-5 on the treble and a AKG Perception 150 on the bass into a Zoom H5. Edited in Rx 7 Standard and "mastered" in Reaper.

County Cork:

Here's a slide show to go with it:

Your new Furch sounds fantastic, Barry. The music fits the slide show really well. Great playing!

Wow Barry I'm almost speechless. Absolutely beautiful all around. Everything about it fits together so well - great scenery, great sounding guitar, and just a masterful touch in your playing and it's original. I was truly transformed to very rewarding, relaxing, and peaceful place. Thanks so much for sharing my friend.

Mike

Definitely worth putting on a pair of good headphones for this. Wonderful!

I listened to it twice — one right after the other and must say that your Furch is sounding absolutely splendid.

Of course, I think your masterful playing is for something, too, Barry.

As soon as my husband gets home, I’m going to have him listen to this. I know he’ll love it. (He’s originally from Brittany, and about as Celt as one can be.)

So glad you shared!

Very nice, Barry!! You're getting a terrific recorded sound with your approach and of course that new guitar.
Relaxing, easy and reflective piece on a Sunday morning!!!

Sounds like you’re getting acclimated to that Furch Barry.

It’s very pretty with these photos.
It’s very much in the spirit of Slow Air.
I went to Cork a few years ago, it’s less wild than western Ireland but it’s nice too

Wow!!! That's really great work, Barry!

Such a mesmerising composition with that Celtic air; and your playing is as crisp as the scenes in your slide show! The Furch sounds superb and very well suited to this piece!

BTW What did your wife say about your composition and playing?

As I listened to this tune and how you played it the word that came to me was 'grace'. Well done and your new gitfiddle sounds graceful too! Dan

Nice job. I spent a few weeks in Cork in 2013 for work, but got to explore Ireland on the weekends (and town each evening). Two years ago, I discovered that my ancestors likely came from County Cork, so now I have a desire to return (and pay a little more attention, this time).
