That's a heck of a clip! How is he getting that super low tuning effect?

Don't worry about it. A ton of us here horse trade guitars like there's no tomorrow; it's all part of the fun for some and doesn't mean at all that the guitar is defective in some way. I've sold some guitars just because I fancy a change or because GAS is biting deep and you end up convincing yourself that a perferctly good guitar needs changing. Indeed, I sold a Bown OM myself a few years ago that Clive used to own. One of the few guitars that I regret letting go. I had Ralph build me an OMX after that but there's something very balanced about his OM model. It's a tremendously versatile instrument. And Ralph's woodworking skills are second to none, and better than most.

I've played your OM and it's lovely. In a different league to any factory guitar. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Steve

PS: It's also a well known fact that Chris Stern has owned most of the Bowns on the planet at one time or another...

Slight exaggeration there.

You all realize most of those videos are of amplified guitars. You're hearing a guitar pickup, not the sound of the lovely guitar.

Are these guitars still being produced? I did a quick Google search and came up empty.

Cheers.

Ralph is most definitely still making guitars. Graham Coxon’s most recent instrument is only 2 or 3 months old.

No website but a full order book says it all. If you are interested in further details let me know.
Good to know he's still building. I'm always interested in more guitars, although I should probably take a break from constantly buying stuff.

I definitely was thinking this as I reflected on how amazing Graham Coxon sounded that night. But he must have had some kind of magic pickup in his Bown, because it mine really does have some of that magic sound — and so do the ones I've heard in the many clips I've listened to online.

This is one of this very rare times where spending a ridiculous amount of money on some finely-produced thing (guitars, stereo equipment, etc.) has produced something that not only looks and feels nice but also sounds (way) better. This one is truly in another league from any other acoustic I've ever played. A few weeks later, I still can't enough of it!
