Default Simple idea for practicing intervals

Hi!

Here is very simple idea for practicing intervals on guitar.
1.practice scale in position
2.practice certain interval for each note you can reach in that position.
3. Play simple melody
4. Add chosen intervallic note for each melody note

Have a Merry Christmas!
Kindest, Mikko

Thank you for sharing this exercise. I think my abilities are not yet at a level where I can fully appreciate this. Could you add some context to help people like me better understand the purpose and the objectives of this exercise? Does it have applications for styles other than classical?

Hello!
I wanted to make very short lesson where from everyone can take what they can and like. This idea can be aplied for example to composing and improvising jazz, blues, rock etc. There is many ways to use it so maybe I'll try to make anpther video about that subject some day.

BTW How do you like your Recording King guitar? I have thought to buy one some dy.

Hi Mikko,

The Recording King is a nice guitar, especially for the price. It sounds fine, but it's also nothing special. I bought the Recording King parlor guitar mostly for the looks: https://images.app.goo.gl/SWYRRwdCZE62r1vu5

Unfortunately, the guitar was faulty from the factory; the action was much too high. The store offered to set it up properly free of charge, and so I bought it. However, through this forum, I found out that it was not the way it should be, and so we ended up returning it to the factory for an exchange or repair. I waited for two months or so without hearing anything back, and the customer service rep informed me that this special model was a limited edition and no longer available. They offered me a refund or an exchange for a model that was a step up from the one I had (solid top instead of plywood), and so I took that offer. The replacement guitar doesn't have the cool design, but it sounds good.

I haven't played it very much, though, mostly because I find it very difficult to play my style (flatpicking) on a parlor guitar, and it's also not very useful in bluegrass jams. Also, the nut is a standard 11/16 inch nut, and I've become more used to the wider nut width of my go-to guitars, which are my two Martins. As a result, the Recording King has stayed in its case lately.

Overall, I would say it's a great guitar considering the very cheap price, but I would never choose it as my main guitar.

Ok, thank you for your answer. Maybe I think it little bit still. Maybe if I but couple of hundred euros more I can get more reliable guitar.
