Default Guitar case holding strap - repair?

The short strap that attaches the body of the case to the top, preventing it from opening beyond ~90 degrees, has detached at the top. Any suggestions on repairing it (besides leaving is detached)?

I've never tried to repair one that came loose. But I have cut them when the top would not tilt back far enough to remain open when sitting level. I'd rather have the lid flip all the way flat and perhaps stress the hinges a bit than fall closed and bite my guitar top.

Wade Hampton Miller usually counsels finding a luggage repair or shoe repair business near you. It should be easy repair work for them.

An auto or marine upholstery shop could also offer repair services.

I fixed one on an SKB (plastic) case once. It was hot-glued, so that's how I repaired it.
