Pickup for Auditorium Sized Guitar
Hello, I've been playing this old auditorium sized Kay but this Woody soundhole pickup i've used on my other guitars will not fit.
What are some good pickups (preferably soundhole ones) that can be used for a variety of guitar sizes? I'm trying to play at open mics singer-songwriter style and don't have a lot experience with different pickups. Thanks. |

Have you tried cutting back the corners of the wood on the pickup to fit the smaller hole?

Most open mics have a second mic available to mic guitars or for duos. You might try that.

If you don't mind spending a little money, a Baggs M1 sounds really good and can be found used for ~$100. I have filed down the tabs on them occasionally to make them fit into a smaller soundhole.

I can't recommend the Fishman Matrix Infinity Mic Blend highly enough.
I love it.
