Default LR Baggs Align Pedals / DI shootout about to happen!!

Hey guys, I was very excited to find out about the pedals LR Baggs has put out called the Align series. I'm gonna spend the next week or so trying different configurations with different DI's (both passive and active DI's)

I started researching and reading about the difference between active and passive DI's, when to use each and learned the difference between how the 2 convert the signal to a balanced one. Passive DI's have transformers in them! Transformers do not distort the same way active DI's do – they saturate. This creates a natural compression that we humans find pleasing and is often referred to as vintage sounding. OK, that sold me.

So here is what I will be shooting out (I will try swapping the compression and EQ position in each chain too):

1) Just doing the whole Align series minus the reverb pedal)

Boss Tuner>>LR Baggs Session pedal>>LR Baggs EQ pedal>>LR Baggs Align Active DI

2) the Align pedals with the passive DI

Boss Tuner>>LR Baggs Session pedal>>LR Baggs EQ pedal>>Radial JDI Passive DI

3) Just the Align EQ with the passive DI

Boss Tuner>>LR Baggs EQ pedal>>Radial JDI Passive DI

4) Just thought I would try the compression pedal w/ my PARA because why not.

I will let you know how it goes!! I will have my engineer friend with me too when I do this to have a 2nd set of ears and dialing in skills in the room. I am really looking forward to hearing the results. Below are the links to the products.

Oh...I will be doing this all with my Guild D-50 BG if that matters to anybody.

I look forward to it...I use the Align EQ with my Baggs M80 in my D-18 and you can see my demo in my recent thread here; I love it! Baggs user friendly features and quiet operation and sound is excellent.
