Exclamation A pickup for playing at high volumes w distortion

Hey guys I really need some help here. I have a seagull c6 with godin electronics and a piezo. I play with a four piece alternative rock band but most of my stuff sounds best on acoustic. Basically the sound Im going for is acoustic through the p.a. with a second pickup in the soundhole coming out a second output jack that goes to my pedal board for distortion and into a tube amp. Currently using a fender hot rod deluxe. Depending on the part of the song I turn on and off with a pedal the signal for the second channel to get overdriven guitar on choruses. Its a strange setup but sounds really cool with the band.

It works for practice when we can angle the amps funnily but during shows it feeds back too heavy.

I installed an M1 magnetic thinking that would work but its body sensitive and the slightest tap on the body of the guitar will register. Naturally this causes as much feedback as the piezo. Any tips on pickups I should try next or will they all have this issue?

Next show is Friday. If I get advice in the next two days I’ll next day air the pickup to get it installed in time! Thanks everybody, hoping for an advice miracle.

Try the piezo through a tube screamer. It will sound pretty good. I've done it at pit band gigs where the primary was acoustic and the electric parts were minimal.

You sound like you could really use a good Tele. You already have the amp, and your three buddies are killing the acoustic.
