Default Snapped a String

Hi, i bought myself a snark and overtightened a string hence it snapped. Are these relatively easy to replace or have to wait for shopens to open? Thanks

You can go to Taylor’s web site and they have a good tutorial as well.
The bottom line: you should learn to change strings on your guitar. You can do it.

Yes, changing strings is pretty basic maintenance that anyone who plays guitar should be able to do.

If your guitar is a recent or current model, a lot of retailer's websites will have information on strings that the guitar was sold with, sometimes even the brand and model number. Otherwise, you can probably find 264,921 different discussions of string gauges right here at AGF.

That's a loaded question to ask around here (you'll get a million different opinions!). What body style is your guitar (i.e. Dreadnaught, Slope Shoulder, OM, and so on)? That will help to determine whether you should use Light or Medium gauge strings. RXMoore is correct.

Then there's the quality of sound, which is the next conversation.

don't know what part of the world you are but here in the UK I buy most of my strings from eBay.

I don't know what kind of guitar you have either, but I'd suggest that you put a whole new set on.

I'd suggest that you look for D'addario EJ16s or Martin MA540 (both are light gauge which is most used gauge.

Can't really go wrong with them.
Just make sure that the strings are coming from a music shop/dealer.

e.g. In US : https://www.ebay.com/itm/DAddario-EJ...UAAOSwvYha3P5z

Or in UK : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAddario-...sAAOSwvgdW5q9I

Most of us change our strings every 1-4 months and so we build up a bit of a stock.
