I like to ride bicycles but that is on hold for now pending knee surgery. I own four rental properties and my wife manages seven of her fathers properties, so basically I am the handyman for eleven properties and that sometimes can get busy

These days mine are primarily target shooting (I have two Walther pistols, one in 45 acp and one in 9mm, and a CZ Scorpion "pistol"), reading, and cruising with my wife once it becomes safe to do so again.
I've recently had to give up motorcycling and auto racing due to health problems from cancer.

You mean besides bicycles, motorcycles, hiking, road trips, photography, fishing, writing, audiobooks, shooting, RC planes/quads, kayaks and welding junk-art? Those diversions aside, I'm pretty one-dimensional. "The trouble is, you think you have time." Buddha.

Open lake swimming (with wet suit for 60 degree F temp) to replace indoor lap pools. More reading..... |

Like many have mentioned, one of my favorite hobbies is cycling (road bike). I usually ride about 4K miles annually. Longer rides on the weekend. Living in San Diego where it rains rarely I have the freedom to ride more often.

Of course you'll want to consult your doctor, but a speedy recovery may possibly involve cycling (probably stationary right at first). Pretty much everyone I know who had knee/hip surgery was given pedaling as therapy. Low-impact, increasing-range movement to build strength and stability. Best of luck with your surgery and recovery.
