Default For No One Solo

Brian Ahern, Bruce Archer, James Burton, Rick Cunha, Amos Garrett, and of course Emmylou Harris played guitar on Emmylou's album, "Pieces of the Sky" (1975).
Does anyone know who's playing the solo part on the Lennon-McCartney song, "For No One", on that album?

Thanks...............Dave

An interesting song, played by just 2 of the Beatles, Paul and Ringo. The french horn solo was played by a guy named Alan Civil. Civil was also part of the orchestra crescendo on "A Day in the Life". He was classically trained on the french horn which goes with the territory, i suppose.

Amos Garrett... now THERE'S a brilliant guitarist who is so overlooked that he doesn't even make the "vastly overlooked" category!!!

I love his playing on pretty much everything I've heard him on... but his solo on Maria Muldaur's "Midnight At The Oasis" is just so... so... PERFECT!!! Stops me in my tracks every time... I was STUNNED to find out he played that solo on a Telecaster!!!

Thanks for all that information. It's much appreciated. He's a treasure for sure. I installed a Wikipedia link that gives up a ton of information about Amos. You may find it interesting. I had to laugh. He said that he loves to sing, but didn't have much opportunity to do so while always playing in the band. So he went on his own for a while, and recorded an album titled, "Amosbehavin" in 1985. Amosbehavin, gotta love it!
