My midlife crisis:

That same year, color.

I had to finally divest of it when I started having some health issues.

Now I am retired going on four months. My birthday gift to myself was a nice beginners mandolin. I’ve been learning that. Much safer.

I recently went back to the bike also. I cannot climb mountains like I used to, but I sure enjoy riding my bike and am thankful for that.
I look at my guitar playing that way, too. I can't play as well as I used to, but I can sight read a lot better ,and have had to adapt different ways to play due to physical limitations. But like my bike riding, I sure enjoy playing guitar.

I had a crummy first 31 years. The 30 since then have mostly been great. Super-awesomely wonderful , by comparison, actually. I look forward to a few more years of high-quality existence here in this body. If/when that gets dicey, I will take the appropriate steps to either correct what's wrong, or eagerly enter the next phase of existence, beyond time and space
