Default Not to be morbid, but who will get your guitars when you pass away?

I know many of you have tremendous collections.

My daughter is 7 months old right now but I hope I can pass on my guitars to her when I'm gone. Hopefully she wants to learn how to play... 😁

I have the guitars, and 5 or 6 trumpets, a flute, an electric piano and a grand piano.

Aside from leaving some hints on finding values, I've decided it's not my problem. My daughter is also a music teacher - as well as her husband. My son has a son who plays a little guitar and a daughter who plays flute. They'll have to figure it out.

It would be very nice to have some of my instruments played by grandchildren, but I'm currently not participating in those decisions. Maybe when we're all a little older. I've decided my job is to just enjoy them all now (instruments and people) and not try to predict the future.

My wife. She's 14 years younger than I am and is a shoe-in to outlive me (at least I hope so).

No one. They are all going with me. In a properly humidified burial chamber, of course

LOL, I've seen variations on this topic on the hifi and record collector forums I'm on.

Neither my wife or daughter play guitar, but I have a few old friends and/or former bandmates that I'd like certain instruments to go to. It actually makes me feel better deciding who will receive them after the inevitable happens (assuming I go first).

I have a 13 month old rug rat and already she enjoys plucking the strings. They will all go to her. She can keep or sell (or donate) as she sees fit.

I have little, but what I have I have given away to those who could not afford a guitar costing more than US $100. Great young players learning by ear that are very gifted. It's a far greater joy to see them enjoy a nice guitar.

Everything goes to my daughter, my only child. Studio, guitars, keyboards, real pianos, etc. I have no other family... Ex-wife gets NOTHING! Hahahahaha!

My grandson, who took up the guitar because of me and with whom I have shared the joy of playing on many, many occasions.

They will probably go on the market.

I have a letter that is attached to my will that specifies that my executor (my wife, or the backup executor I have named) can (but is not obliged to) give them to some friends I have named.

My closest friends don't play, my stepson doesn't play, and all my playing buddies have lots of guitars already, so such a decision seems to lack much importance.

I have it in my will that one of my brothers gets whatever he wants among my guitars and music gear and he will be reasonable. He does play. Everything else is to be sold and I have included suggestions on ways to sell them and their approximate value. I just thought of something... maybe I should stipulate that the proceeds should be donated to some type of music-related charity. I have quite a few guitars.

I've made it quite clear to all my music friends that those who buy me beer and are really nice to me stand a good chance of getting something.

I have a lot of music friends who're younger, raising families, money tight. I am leaving them a nice instrument when my G string breaks.
