Blackbird Savoy with Mi-Si
Checking interest.
I have a Blackbird Savoy with Mi-Si and original gigbag that I'd be open to re-homing if somebody is interested. It's in excellent condition. $2,100 shipped CONUS. I'm not interested in trades, unless you have a Waterloo WL-12 or Martin 0-28VS as those are next on my list to try. This is a really great guitar. I love its tone, comfortable shape and excellent playability. That fact that it is super durable is an added bonus. While I'm pretty sure I'll want to replace it in time, I do want to experience a lot of different guitars as part of my learning journey. A few of you know me from the uke world where I did a similar thing. Six years in and I've owned more than 60 ukes so far (and currently have 9). I need to be more disciplined with guitars or I'll end up divorced. As I'm really fond of my wife, that's not so appealing. LOL. So, to try something else I need to sell what I have. The Savoy is shown here with my Blackbird Farallon tenor uke: Construction: Ekoa® natural linen composite Top: Ekoa® natural linen composite Fretboard Width at 12 Fret: 2.19 in (55.3 mm) Fretboard Width at Nut: 1.75 in /44.45 mm) Neck material: Ekoa® natural linen composite Side Markers: White Dots Bridge Material: Composite Neck Shape: Medium and easy playing Neck Reinforcement: Adjustable truss rod/carbon Profile Bridge String Spacing: 2.18 in (55.3 mm) Saddle: Tusq Nut Material: Tusq Fretboard Composite: 16" radius + aluminium markers Tuning Machines: Gotoh Headstock: Ekoa® Natural linen Headplate: Ekoa® Natural linen Strings (which are on it now): John Pearse Lights Case: Access soft case Scale Length: 24.5 in (623mm) Fretwire: Stainless Steel Finish: Front: Satin, Back: Semi-gloss Dimensions: 36 x 13.5 x 4.25 in. Blackbird Savoy with Mi-Si
Giving this beautiful looking and sounding guitar a bump!
Eddie is very well respected in the ukulele community, and a very nice guy to boot! I've had multiple trade/sales/purchases with him, and give him the highest recommendation . . . |

Thanks, @kevdog and @mezcalero63.
A couple of folks circling on this one but nobody committed...yet. New this would cost $2,700 plus shipping. And you'd have at least a 15-week wait. I'll offer a 7-day inspection/trial. No thrilled with it? Return to me and I'll refund purchase price less actual cost to ship to you. I've sold many dozens of ukes on Ukulele Underground and everyone has been very happy. P.S. I am swimming in ukes, so if anyone has interest in ukes, PM. Most of mine are very high end but I do have one or two more moderately price ones.

Another strong recommendation from me about Eddie. We know each other from the ukulele world and he is a highly respected stand up guy who has bought and sold many instruments.

Hi Eddie,
Didn’t know you were playing that much guitar. Would you say it is similar to the Blackbird black tenor but guitar? Can’t quite Relate to the size. Smaller than a Taylor 712? The blackbird classical I had played like a dream but impossible for me to hold even with a strap. Love Blackbirds! Shirley |

Quote:
The Savoy is one of the most comfortable guitars I have played. Because of its shape, it actually fits in a 3/4 gig bag. With the 24.5 inch scale, the 12-fret join and the lower tension, it makes it a bit easier for those of us more familiar with ukes. I also like the cutaway design. I'm not kidding when I say I will almost certainly replace it in the future. I would probably want wider string space given the choice and I'd probably bling it up a bit like I did my Farallon. Those who can't play, bling. ;-) As to tone, it sounds nothing like the Blackbird Carbon (black) tenor did. To my ears, those had incredible note clarity but didn't blend well and lacked a true wood tone. They sounded, um, sterile to me. eKoa, which is a flaxseed based linen material, has a true wood-like tone. So, to compare to the Blackbird ukes, it sounds more like a Clara or a Farallon (email me if you want a sample of the Farallon).
