If you ever spent any time playing in classical guitar position seated, the V works fairly well that way. Put the V notch on your right thigh, rest the lower bout on your left thigh, angle neck up. There's a bit more left arm extension than many guitarists are used to, but it works. And there is a reason classical guitarists are taught to use this position for their intricate work.

And now for something completely different: besides Lonnie Mack and Albert King, I associate the V also with Bob Mould/Husker Du.

Just watched the video. Some great playing. Love that SRV Strat with the wear & tear.

I've head of Lonnie Mack before but I really don't know who he was. The video helped as did his wiki page. He actually bought the Flying V #7 during the first year or production - wow.

V's are great rock and blues guitars. Some people complain that they don't balance well on a strap--that the neck dives. Well, there's a handle that you're supposed to hold to prevent that :o)

I've had no balance issues with this V - and it plays great too!
