Great job all the way on that one Glenn. And being the Gibson fanboy that I am, I'm loving the Gibson Advanced Jumbo!

Just great Glenn!
Thank you so much Fred! Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment!

I really appreciate your observations! I have been singing this song with Chris Isaak since it came out in 1989. So I knew it was within my vocal range. But... singing the song on my own is rather different from singing with Chris Isaak. So I had to practice this a bit!

I'm really pleased that you felt this came out well!

I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving, Fred!

Hi Tom!

Oh, you are really too kind! Thank you!

I am so pleased that you felt this came out well!

When I started out on this, just like so many others I have done, I really didn't know how it was going to work out. Every once in a while I simply have to abandon a project because it just isn't working out the way I'd like. When something does work out reasonably well, I am still wondering at the end if I have done the song justice.

Thanks for your kind comments, Tom! I very much appreciate your efforts to offer encouragement!

I hope all is well for you and your family! Be well!

- Glenn

Thank you Rene!

I am so appreciative of your comments, especially because you have done so many video performances, you really know what's involved in taking on a project like this.

Thank you for your kind comments. I'm particularly glad you enjoyed the backing vocals. I enjoyed doing those, too. I always thought they were too far back in the mix on the Chris Isaak version of this song, so on my version, I got to have the backing vocal levels a little higher so you could actually hear what was being sung.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving Rene! And I'm sure you are looking forward to Advent and the Christmas season!

Take care!

- Glenn

Hi Daniel!

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and comment! I'm so appreciative that you thought this came out well!

And yes, I agree with you on the Gibson AJ! It really seems like the perfect rhythm guitar for strumming. It has worked out really well for me on several Beatles covers, also. I feel so comfortable with that guitar these days!

Thanks so much for your comments, Daniel! I hope all is well for you and that you had a great Thanksgiving!

Wow! A complete band, all by yourself, with an almost "Randy Rainbow" quality of production, and 1st class vocals, on a tough song to perform! Mucho kudos!

I have always loved this song and finally decided to see what I could do with this. I hope I have done the song justice.

The acoustic guitar is my Gibson Advanced Jumbo (2002 Luthier's Choice), the electric guitar is a Fender Stratocaster Pro II, and the bass is a neck-thru Carvin.

Thank you for watching!

Hi Glenn

That was superb - well done - playing all the parts also - you made it look way easier than it is. Great vocals.

Steve

Glenn,
I've always loved this song. There's something about the sound of it that I find haunting. After hearing your version, I love it a little more. As usual, great job.

Wow, Glenn, that was incredible! You absolutely nailed all of the parts of the song. It’s such a haunting, plaintive song, and you captured it beautifully. I always felt that the electric guitar part is as much a drippy “backing vocal” as an instrumental part. The production is great, too!
