Default Travels (Pat Metheny) new guitar Arrangement

Hi folks, today I would like to introduce you to my arrangement of the Pat Metheny classic "Travels". The 1983 album of the same name won a Grammy and for me the song is a milestone in music history. I've been working on completing an independent arrangement of the song for a long time and now the time has come. For a suitable groove I decided to include drums, bass and piano as well...I hope you like it.

Nicely played. Overall sound good though I might bring up the volume on the guitar part just a touch over the background.

I need to take on a Metheny song as he is pretty much my favorite guitarist because he is so diverse and his music is so filled with such nuance and beautiful textures. It will be a challenge as none of his work is easy to play so lots of respect to you for giving us a performance that would make Pat smile.

Two of my Metheny favorites are A Map of the World and his collaboration with Charlie Haden on Jimmy Webb’s The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Speaking of Jimmy Webb, I wonder if Pat would ever consider giving us his interpretation of Webb’s Wichita Lineman.
