Did anyone own one of these?

When they came out, the electric version, the DG stomp, was my favorite pedal of that era. The build quality was excellent and so where the tones. It's no surprise to me that the AG Stomp sounds goods too. I had two of those DG stomps and I sold them for more than I paid new, that should speak volumes about how good they were.

I found one used at GC for $130. It was so worth it. Makes acoustic-electric guitars with quacky-sounding piezo pickups sound terrific plugged in.

I'm not sure Aaron mentioned it, but the specifications note that both left and right outputs are 'balanced' TRS, which if you plan on recording from the AG Stomp, the use of balanced cables into an interface with balanced inputs will help ensure a clean, quiet recording. These are 'true' balanced outputs, unlike some gear which are typically a cheaper impedance or electronically balanced outputs.
Another thing to note is that unlike the DG Stomp which uses a coin battery to retain patch memory, the AG Stomp uses a different type of RAM which needs no battery for patch retention. Over the years I've had a DG Stomp I think I've changed out the battery maybe three times and fortunately it was in a battery holder rather than soldered.
Well thought out and well built were both these products.

I never knew about that one. That's a pretty cool box.

That's quite a good rundown. I alternated between the AG Stomp and original Aura Blender for year, finally succumbing to the lure of the Tonedexter.

I think some further exploration of the "shift" function as part of the EQ structure would have been justified. This, in combination with the "input level" which is also save-able with presets meant I could fine tune the settings for 3/4 instruments and pull them up instantly. I had 4 banks (of 3 presets) set up so that #1 in each bank was mute, #2 was dry (with EQ, limiter and mic sim) and #3 was effect (as #2 plus chorus and a bit of boost).

This is a great box which is still in the cupboard awaiting appropriate gigs.

@MarkF_48:

I've just remembered, one of my outputs had given up the ghost the last time I took it out. That little schematic might prove useful in hunting down the cause.

Thanks for posting.

Yes, I have an AG Stomp, as well as a DG Stomp and Magic Stomp.

The AG Stomp is pretty good at making a crappy piezo listenable, but I no longer have any crappy piezos in any guitars. The ToneDexter does a cleaner job with decent piezos.

So the AG Stomp doesn't get a lot of use these days.

When I was playing in bands, I used the DG series amps for a while. I thought they were a great sounding digital amp. Not the same as my good tubes amps, but great tones and programmable. Yamaha made some great gear...

Fantastic piece of kit for its day. Owned two on separate occasions and used them quite a bit for my UST-equipped acoustics. Now I just use a Baggs Venue with my SBT-equipped guitars.

I still own my DG Stomp. It was an instant classic and still holds up well despite the leaps in technology since its release. Haven't broken it out in a while, so that should make for a fun trip down memory lane and inspire some new creativity!

I’m on my second DG-Stomp, and it’s absolutely a classic. I use it weekly for JamKazam sessions, and it’s perfect.

I still have mine but I bought it new and didn’t come the battery thing you mentioned so maybe it was a limited thing or was an optional add on or version. Mine is still like new since I never used it much. Just some dust on it.

Yes. The one I had came with two short TRS to XLR cables.
