If anyone knows of any hog backed guitars, please let me know. Id buy one in a heartbeat.
I used to have the opposite problem. I wanted a real plane-Jane rosewood guitar, with the simplest rosette and binding I could get away with, along with the satin back/sides. Ironically enough, I had to resort to a custom to achieve what I wanted.

If that is the case, I kinda agree. I really like the Alvarez Masterworks with the burst but after inquiring to them directly, I've discovered they don't make any lefty models unfortunately (for me).
When I read "Hog backed" in the original post I thought it mean mahogany back and sides. If he meant all mahogany I can see his dilemma.

Lol, I missed the "hog backed". I've been looking at all-hogs myself, and I think most of them are very dull looking, so I guess I was just projecting.

I appreciate the understated nature of 18 series guitars (and all the makers following that blueprint) In many ways, some have similar bling it's just not contrasting - tortoise binding blends right in where white binding contrasts to pop!

I'd echo the Larrivee's as a good representation of modest, but noticeable embellishment on a mahogany body, see Morgans as well, for that same general aesthetic.

Let's just blame martin for setting the aesthetic ground rules and everyone for trying to be just like them ;-)

As others have mentioned, Taylor's 500 series mahogany guitars might be what you are looking for.

Yes, Taylor. I wonder if I can go through the CS at Martin?

Taylor's shaded edge burst all hog 500 series guitars are stunningly beautiful in my opinion.

My 562ce 12x12 has tortoise binding ,front and back, flanked with one white pinstripe around the edges of the back and sides, two white pinstripes on the top, and end grain ivoroid and white pinstripe roseate around the soundhole. End grain ivoroid inlays in the ebony fretboard. I love how front, back and sides each get the shaded edgeburst, too. Very sophisticated bling... it's the best-looking guitar I've ever owned.

^ That isn't mahogany topped.

The OP wants an all mahogany guitar that has some fancy appointments.

I’ll see if I can find the pic, but I had an all mahogany Collings 00 with an abalone torch on the slothead, 3 abalone dots on the fretboard, and an abalone rosette. Just the right mix of bling and subtlety.

I think it is a tradition stemming from the fact that mahogany was always historically a cheap wood compared to rosewood, with a plain Jane appearance.
Nowadays, just be lucky to get "real" mahogany.

This was an issue when I was looking for a 12 fret 15 series Martin. Most 15s have no binding at all, one step too plain for me. All is well as I found a custom with tortoise binding, but the rest is plain satin. But I'm thankful they were still using Honduran at the time.

As far as mahogany back and sides with sitka tops, the 18 was the low model Martin, and my Guild was too. Now you can get what you want to pay for from any small maker. I once saw a Martin dread made from an absolutely stunning ( like the famous "tree" wood) piece of mahogany, and it had basic 18 binding. It was stunning. I have seen very few dolled up mahogany guitars.

My 2005 Taylor 512ce L10 Grand Concert has a mahogany neck, top, back, and sides. Wood grain is simply awesome, and it has an abalone soundhole rosette and faux tortoiseshell binding. Neck is 25.5", not short scale. Very handsome looking guitar and sounds even better than it looks. Fall Limited if I'm not mistaken.
