Default NGD - Belated Edition - 000-18GE Custom

Hello!

This is a few weeks late, but better late than never. I recently purchased a beautiful 000-18GE from MFG (I highly recommend contacting Jon if you need a custom guitar).

After much deliberation and research I am happy to say I believe I made a great decision. It is a great compliment to my HD-28 and will provide a lot of enjoyment for many years to come... have a look.

Ambertone
The rest is all set to the 000-18GE specs.

Congrats! That Adi/GE Bracing/Mahogany combo seems to be the hot ticket right now. Bet it sounds very nice.

I have a superb HD28V Custom that apparently needs a hog little brother.

With all the turmoil in the exotic wood market right now, it’s a good thing to be sitting on quality Rosewood and “genuine” Mahogany guitars.

I highly recommend it. I love the wider neck and string spacing for more finger picking. I love how it sounds different than my dread, it helps me justify the money I spent on it. But I plan on keeping these guitars a very long time so I am happy with both!

Part of me wants a used old all mahogany 00-15 or 00-17 now. The chase never ends!

Congrats and welcome to the 000-18GE Custom Adirondack Ambertone club! I've got almost the same guitar except mine has the slotted headstock with torch inlay, single abalone rosette inlay and no pickguard. Easily my favorite guitar I've ever owned. It's the Swiss Army Knife of guitars.

Thanks everyone, yeah it is a great guitar. Its not quite as big sounding as the HD-28 obviously, but if I didn't have the HD, I feel like this would be plenty of guitar...if I had to choose just one.

Excited to play it more and let it settle in over the next couple years. Problem is no giving equal attention to both guitars!

Yeah the ambertone is really nice. I had thought I wanted the traditional sunburst—which is also great—but I just couldn’t pass on the ambertone, felt a little more unique to me.
