Welcome to the AGF.
Whilst I'm sure the Yamaha is a fine instument, you're in a country famous for it's beautiful guitars - nothing 2nd hand available there?

I can't speak to quality but as far as setup goes, absolutely. Virtually every guitar that you buy through online will benefit from a proper setup once it acclimates to your environment.

Welcome to AGF.

I’m a large Yamaha fan generally. That would be a solid direction for you. Another direction might be in the direction of Seagull/Godin.

Eastman gets lots of love around here as well.

All these and other out there have reasonably priced quality offerings...

As for risk buying online. That would be like any other product my friend. It really comes down to how much you trust the vendor.

If I was in your neck of the woods one place I would have no problem trusting is Richard’s Guitars. Find him on YouTube. He sells online in a big way in the UK and Europe generally. Maybe you’ve heard of him. He seems like a really genuine guy....As a closer option for you...Take a look at his site and videos on YouTube.

He doesn’t sell Yamaha though...he’s big into Eastman, and certainly several other brands...

Hey Jags, do you guys get an inspection period over there? It's so difficult to tell you what you will like. Sure, Yamaha makes some decent guitars, and many folks are very happy with them, but no one can tell you if it's the one for you. You have to play it.

I'd look for a dealer with a liberal return policy personally. I don't like returning things, but sometimes it's the only way to know. I've never been to your neck of the woods. Are there any decent shops where you can go play one, maybe compare it to other similarly priced guitars?

There is currently a thread going that discusses even higher end Yamahas. You may glean some info just by reading through that thread. There is a lot of love for Yamaha. You should be able to find online videos doing demos also of what you are looking at. Not a substitution for playing, but it does help.

I will find the link to the thread I was talking about for you.
