I don't know how they did it, but the Nats cracked the Gerrit Cole code.

I predict the Nationals will go to a home stand 2-0..... Okay, I cheated. I watched the game. I mean the pounding.

The Nats seem to have outguessed Verlander's stuff! Doesn't matter how fast or how many strikes, if a major leaguer thinks he knows whats coming, he tees' off on it!

I'd like to see the Astros win a couple, so I can watch some more good baseball. In the end, I'd like to see the Nationals win it all.

I am super surprised at the first two games, the Astros have just been shut down completely. I did not see this coming for sure!

Stunning. But having lived through the 86 series, I can say it ain’t over until one team wins 4.

I've enjoyed watching the first two games. It's good watching it just for the love of the game and not having any connections to either team. I'll be there as much as I can be for the rest of the games. I always watch the World Series each year and always enjoy the experience.

I was actually expecting the Washington Nationals to do well against the Astros, though I can't put my finger on why I felt that way.

Everyone seemed to have been picking Houston, simply because of how they manhandled the Yankees.

I always root for the underdog...

Underdog? After Washington man-handled St. Louis? Not to me.

+1. Rather than spend $300M on a single player they can spread the money around for other talented players. No way Harper deserves that much.

I'd like to see the Nationals win so that GMs out there can see what can happen if you let a $300M player walk, especially in year 1. I'm a huge Mookie Betts fan but I don't want the Red Sox to sign him if it's going to take $300M.

Glenn, you are like me, no dog in the hunt but I love baseball, especially the World Series (much more than the "playoffs"). There is inning by inning drama in the World Series. (See Bobby Thompson, Joe Carter, Bill Maserowski, et. al) I forgot Don Larsen, man, there are just way too many. Jackie Robinson getting to play in the 1947 World Series his first year with the Dodgers. And, for me, the 1985 Royals coming back from a 3-1 deficit against Toronto in the ALCS and then the Cards in the World Series! Baseball is just the best!

Yes. But I doubt Kerbie concurs with your view of ‘85.

Now that you bring that up, I remember that both the 85 and 86 World Series began with the home team at 0-2, both went 7, and both featured amazing come backs resulting in the home teams coming back from 0-2.

Those were great series for folks who aren’t Cardinals or Redsox fans.

I think the Astros have the ability to fight back. Let’s go 7.

As a Red Sox fan it's difficult to forget how '86 transpired. Today is the anniversary of the Bill Buckner error.
