Nice job! I have the same Tascam recorder and I love mine! I've recorded an entire violin recital and then broke the student's performances into separate tracks and then mastered them using Apple's Logic Pro. I was able to give the students there own performance and sounded as if you were there.

Thanks for the comments.
Leftarm, I have not seen that book. I will do a search for it. Nice job on the song
I have been tempted to start that one also. Problem is, I am like a fish going after the next bright object. I get distracted easily.

David thanks, I am going to keep playing around with the Dr-05. I have a tripod I will try next.

Here is take 2 on Last Steam Engine Train. Mounted the recorder on a tripod, got rid of the static.

000JB, learn to use the dB sensitivity on your recorder. Use headphones and listen when this piece goes to the higher bridge. You can actually hear a stereo effect that the record just does. The DR-05 is an awesome recorder. The more I learn about it the better I sound :-)

Keep up the playing. I wish we could just get paid to play guitar. That would be heaven in my opinion

JB, nice playing... That song has a funky syncopation but your getting the hang of it.

TBman, I know 1 verse of like 100 songs.. I never finished them. Always on to something new

Day 9: finally able to play the whole first third of the medley (Cincinnati Rag) through without mistakes. I'll work on it some more tonight (need to increase the tempo) and then onto the next section (New York Rag).

Default Finished Shenandoah

Ok, here it is in all its glory (and ugliness, lol a few flubs). I recorded it with Audacity, one mic (a Rode NT-5) and I "normalized" it, whatever that is . I'll have to read up on it. This is my first time recording with this software, btw. I know in Audition 1.5 I can remove noise and what not, but I'm not going pro with this recording, .

Now on to finish the next tune, Darcy's Guitar.

Day 10: nightmare repertoire practice followed by about 15 minutes on the new song. That went okay but I was pretty tired at that point and was mostly looking forward to putting the guitar away for the night. Hopefully I'll have some time tonight to work on it some more. I'd like to move onto the second part of the medley.

Ok I have been working on Darcy's Guitar and here is the first page and a couple of bars on the second page:

It's coming along. I have to figure out what order he plays things, he jumps around a bit and the trail isn't that clear, but I'll figure it out. If I can't I'll just do it my way

No progress on the cicle game the last few weeks. Medication issues, I will get back to work and back to you this week,
