Default loudspeaker pick up

hi there i am in the process of converting an old beaten up classical guitar into an electric acoustic crossover experiment.
my intention is to reduce neck width, create a position hole, refret after giving the neck a slght curvature and install a piezo and an old broadband speaker as resp high and low pick ups. has anybody experience with using a speaker built in into the body:
location, hight and size. my experiment sofar indicates best results with the speaker in the top of the body above the neck connection.

I did a classical to crossover conversion and it turned out well:

I picked up a JJB twin transducer pickup to install, but I'm waiting for the next string change to install it. I'm hoping to get the same results as this "Old beater conversion":

I'm unsure of what you're attempting to do with an old speaker. If your intentions are to use it as a pickup I can relate that I had poor results from using a speaker as a microphone in the past. Hypothetically it should work, but the conversion of cone energy to electrical output isn't nearly as efficient as converting electrical energy to sound, as a speaker is designed to do.
