Default Schertler X

Anyone have a good understanding about the difference between the "X" Series and Regular Series of Schertler amps?

The X series generally have more power, weight, and features. Their website says that the X is "significantly improved".
Schertler is a member here and wouldn't mind a PM. Good luck!

Hey guys.

I did an overview video on the Giulia X. Basically with the X amps the power amp section has been improved with a new limiter and redesigned filter section and the speakers are upgraded to higher efficiency speakers. The amps also have a little more power than the older series.

I've been probably the number one vocal supporter of Schertler amps on this site, and your video shows clearly why that is so. Nice demo!!! That little amp sounded great!

Hi! How do you guys find Giulia amp? I am not too interested in the X unit, just tried the Y a few days ago and loved it, but didn't had the chance to squeeze it to see how loud it could perform; I guess X and Y shouldn't be too different. Plan to connect a classical guitar to it and love the tone: Don't want to risk a bigger one that may not have that acoustic tone.

Still love my Schertler Jam 400, best acoustic amp+ I've ever heard.

I love mine too! Funny thing, I blew a driver in my Jam 200 from pure abuse on my part, and I needed a speaker in a hurry, so I replaced it with a different brand which sounds great, the speaker was PRV Audio 8MB450-4 v2 8" Pro Audio Midbass Speaker 4 Ohm. This speaker stays tighter at louder volumes than the stock speaker and I think sounds a little bit better in the mids.

I'm sure the 8 ohm version would sound great in the JAM 400 if you ever need new speakers. The cost is around $40 a speaker!!!

I was so impressed with that speaker that I ordered two of the same company's best drivers, the PRV Audio 8MB700FT-NDY for my JAM 400! The have really high power ratings, very high sensitivity for increased volume (98db/1watt), and lightweight (neodynium magnets), I will let you know how they sound when they get here. It's just a fun experiment

Schertler has a long time habit of not explaining the details of improvements they do to their amps.

What 8” woofers do you recommend as replacements in the Roy?
