After taking some time to sharpen up my chisels, bracing and initial voicing of the tops is progressing nicely.

I started to work on bracing the back of my Purpleheart Sucia. My photo feed is looking very purple the last few days.
 I am following Ervin Somogyi’s thoughts on bracing that he discuses in much detail in his books on the responsive guitar. My guitar backs are prepared thin to keep them active. This along with bracing that is tall and lightweight. I’m using riven Sitka spruce for all the bracing on this guitar.

Here is a couple update shots. Tops are getting attached and sealed on the inside with a thin coat of shellac. Side sound ports are cut.
   We had a beautiful sunrise this morning. I always enjoy looking out the windows to see this.  My Koa Vendovi is not too far behind.

Here is a sample of what is to come with the finish on this Purpleheart, it really has a rich color.
I closed the box on this one today. I’m planning on using Wenge for the neck. More to come on that later. Thanks for taking a look!

Closed the box today on my Koa Vendovi.
   It’s been a little slow going that last few days on the guitars. I’ve been working on a bit of a strange request. A friend asked if I could make him a two string washtub bass. Not sure you could call it a guitar but it is has been an interesting build.    It actually sounds pretty good. It just needs some finish and the requested beer holder. [emoji3]

Both guitars are cleaned up and ready to start the binding process. I make my own binding and perflings. My plan is to go with Ebony and a maple purfling on the Purpleheart Sucia. And Cocobolo and maple on the Koa Vendovi.

Made a little progress on the bindings. I like to make extra for inventory. Cocobolo and curly maple for the Koa guitar and Ebony and curly maple for the Purpleheart. I ended up with enough Cocobolo for two guitars and three maybe four with the Ebony.
