Default Halland 000 - ABW / Swiss Content

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of taking delivery of a Halland 000 in African Blackwood / Swiss Moon Spruce. Gage is a wonderful guy who is building fan-tas-tic guitars, as many BIG attendees were able to experience first-hand. Impeccable craftsmanship and spectacular sonics - clarity, sustain, articulation, and volume in just the right proportions. And I should not omit that Gage apprenticed with Michael Greenfield about a decade ago.

One of the best parts of BIG was meeting fellow guitar fiends, and lucky for me fellow AGFer Kenny B also lives in the Chicagoland area. We met up last weekend at Ken's home studio and did some recording. All the engineering here is courtesy of Ken, who was very generous with his time and space so thank you Ken!

The tune is an original of mine called "Cantinho", which means "little corner" or "little song" in Portuguese. I wrote it for my niece, who quickly occupied her own little corner in my guitar-filled heart.

I hope you enjoy and encourage you to reach out to Gage if you're looking for your next build.

Guitar spec:
000 body size
ABW back and sides / Swiss Moon Spruce top
25 - 25.34 scale
1 25/32 nut
2 1/4 saddle
Rodgers tuners

Hi Diogo,
Let me be the first to congratulate you on this magnificent guitar!
It says a lot in favour of Gage and his guitars that you picked one of them after testing and playing so many of those great ones at BIG.
Great tune as well, congrats again, I envy that musicality and capability!
..and you know how to play it (..all of them for that matter ;o) to, so ENJOY!
Best, Lonzo

Beautiful playing on your new Halland 000 DCN. It looks and sounds wonderful! I wasn't able to attend BIG this year but did play Gage's guitars at La Conner and was quite impressed. Enjoy!

Very nice. I didn't notice fanned frets when I played it.

The man (DCN) has talent! Nice tune! Gage's guitars certainly have something special going on.

The first mention I recall of Halland guitars on AGF was from member JJI a few years ago, that the guitars were then relatively undiscovered and would soon be getting expensive. Every mention since has been super positive. This guitar sounds and looks great, wonderful playing and recording.

This is lovely in all ways. Great combination of woods put together in a lovely shape, and played to perfection. I hope you enjoy it for many many years.

Thanks, Dave, your D-H is beautiful. I can only imagine the sound you can get out of a bigger bodied Halland.
