Respectfully, time to mercifully stick a fork in this one.

I think Barbara Streisand is a great singer, by the way.**

**That was an opinion, by the way. If someone goes out and purchases her greatest hits and does not like it, I do not assume any liability for buyer's remorse.

Yep

And anyone who is under the impression that the majority of members to this forum take opinions as fact are just as delusional as the small group who actually do.

It's been in interesting thread for me. I love opinions and sharing them. I haven't been surprised or upset by anything here and if I have contributed to anything negative it was unintentional. I think any animosity is actually just amplified by the medium of the forum, not any personal ill will. I think sometimes we do get defensive but I don't think this has been offensive.

We are passionate about guitars or we wouldn't be here in the first place.

I have guitars from BRW, EIRW, Walnut, Sinker Beech, Myrtle, Maple, Mahogany, Makore and The Tree. None of them sound the same. I like that. Just as curly stump wood BRW does it for some people and not others, The Tree is the same way. The Tree is just another wood to choose or not.

If you are thinking about a wood buy, it's nice to know if some is interested in the wood.

It's all good.

Haiku for today:

Rain drops in a pool
Thunder, as Sky-Titans clash
Silence between notes.

The soul of a tree lives on in its remains. Wish we could say that about US.

While there is a bit of poem wafting around the room I'll disagree with you Steve.

A little bit of my soul lives on in every guitar I build.

This thread is starting to remind me of runout threads.

With specific regards to The Tree, I'm not one that cares too much about rarity or exclusivity. I like quality and quantity. I don't really do too much in the extra frilly department since I enjoy entirely too many different guitars. It might be different if I were a 1-2 guitar guy.

Absolutely true, Jim. I misspoke. The soul we put into our work is the most important part of the whole process.

I've never been a fan of quilted mahogany. I just don't like the "bubbly" blister look of it and find it distracting.

But I am a sucker for a nice pinstripe or traditional flamed mahogany. I think it's a lot classier.

"The Tree" seems to be coming back into topic as wood is back on the market from private stashes.

I saw that allied lutherie was selling sets for $1500 a pop. I wouldn't be interested in having a guitar built with it for 1/2 that cost. It's just not me.

But I guess I'm in the minority and folks still go crazy over the tree.....or any wood that resembles it.

I'd much rather see it made into a table or put on a somebody's yacht instead
