Default 2018 Martin 000-18 $old

This 000-18 was purchased this spring and has not been gigged, nor have I even taken it out of our smoke free house, except to play on the deck on occasion.

My 000 sings. I am only selling it because I just picked up a long scale Martin that I'm finding more suitable to my playing. That being said, the short scale delivers a unique focus and resonance that my long scale can't quite replicate.

24.9" scale length. 1 and 3/4" nut. Modified low oval neck with performance taper. 1/4" scalloped bracing. 2 and 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.

The top has some of the nicest cross-silking I've seen, which I find very attractive. It also has some bear claw, which I also find appealing.

Back and sides are solid mahogany--very straight and consistent, but not bland looking, as I sometimes find mahogany.

I love the simple rossette and binding in the 18 series.

Original Martin case included.

If you are looking for one of the newer (reimagined) 000-18's with virtually no play wear or nicks, this is your guitar!

Call me if you want to talk in real time 509 427 seven seven 7 five.

NOTHING nicer than a 000-18. Good luck with sale.

Is this actual Mahogany (Swietenia) or one of the "select hardwoods" that Martin likes to try to pass off as Mahogany? Just curious as I don't know what they use on the 18 Series. It doesn't look like it has the striping that I normally see on the 15"M" Series.

I have never seen Martin try to “pass off” anything as other than what it is. The 000-18 mahogany states clearly on their website Genuine Mahogany. The only place I’ve ever seen select hardwood is for necks.

Yes, the neck is what I was asking about (just realized that wasn't clear). Their website states that the 000-18 has a Select Hardwood neck, so I was trying to figure out if you knew what was actually used on this specific example.

There appears to be some sort of "swipe" across the back of the guitar. Can you explain or provide other photos of the back? Where are you located?

I thought the same thing about the "swipe" at first as well, but it looks more like a reflection in the gloss finish (possibly a ceiling beam?).

Default ooo-18

I hadn't noticed this, but there is a darker vein that runs through the back of the headstock as the photos indicate.

I am in Carson, WA, about 1 hour from Portland, OR.
