Good vibes headed your way from me in sweltering North Carolina today, Bruce, and even better vibes will be headed west the day of your surgery, which I've marked on my calendar. I'll also be playing my Sexauer guitars that day to have their fabulous sounds carry my thoughts and good vibes your way.

So far, none of my major players seem to appreciate my expertise at this level.

Actually, I have pretty good insurance with Kaiser and my fine print seems to say I’ll have a maximum liability of $5700. While not nothing, it will not put me in the poorhouse. I suspect this is the kind of surgery the under-insured would not be able to handle without losing their lifestyle. I am already counting my blessings.

On the other hand, the morning paper says Kaiser workers are planning a major strike in October, and that puts me just under the wire for my 9/18 procedure. Hopefully, no short term complications.

Hey this is a great idea. Why not have all of us lucky Sexauer owner's agree to pick up and play a tune at a specific time on the day of surgery. If that does not send good vibes Bruce's way, I am not sure what would.

I propose 8 AM on the 9-18-19.

Yeah time zone may be tough, I am eastern so you would have to get up at 5 AM, why don't we just say 8 AM in whatever time zone you are in and that way it will be kind of a continuous salute!

As it happens, I have been told to show up at the hospital at 5 am PDT! This will be a struggle for me as I habitually rise at 7:30. 9/18 is the last day before my surgeon takes a 12 day vacation, so I imagine we will get right to it.

I'm not a Sexauer owner, but if nobody thinks it will hurt, I'll kick things off nearer the beginning of the 18th, with all the water and time zones in between us the waves may just reach your shores in time! Best wishes for an exceptionally successful procedure and a stunning recovery.

Bruce I had a double bypass procedure 4 years ago (no valve replacement) and it went very very well. It has become a fairly routine procedure and the prognosis is normally very good. In fact since that time I have gone back to Scuba and Snow skiing and taken up bicycling and am currently doing a three times a week 18 mile round trip from 8000 ft down to 6500 and back up again.

The biggest issue for me after the operation was remembering to not use my arms to get out of bed (they teach you how to roll out), for the prescribed 8 or 12 weeks post op.

So far, it’s all good news on my procedure, I haven’t heard from a single person who failed to survive!

Bruce, definitely good wishes from this guy. I know you'll do fine because we need you here on the AGF. It just wouldn't be the same without you. Take care, brother.

Hey Bruce,

Sorry to hear that you're going through this. I hope you heal quickly and get totally re-energized.

You'll be in my thoughts on September 18th, and I look forward to hearing how you feel afterwards.

Cheers, SteveG

Spent a bit of time with GarageBand this afternoon. This is my Black Limba JB-15 and my latest fiddle, #7. The m4a tune is a 1920's standard called "Hindustan".

Hang in there, Bruce.

You still have at least another 100 guitars to make.

I will be with you on the 18th, doing my best to play these magnificent guitars you have created.

Best wishes,
Rob
