Yes. I bypass the mixer and go direct to my Bose S1 Pro. I record a loop and then listen. I can’t seem to get the sound to my liking. I don’t really want to use a mixer, but I need to cut the mids for my vocal. I tried to increase the bass and treble on the S1 Pro, but there is a definite difference when cutting the mids on the mixer.

I would just omit the Play Acoustic, but the effects are just so darn good.

I tried everything in set up outputs level of Play Acoustic, but nothing happens.
Please, can you tell me,what do you think, where is problem and why?
I'm having the exact same problem! Did you ever figure out what the issue was? My setup is play acoustic - xlr mono to channel 1 of my Yamaha DXR12.
Even with the output setting at maximum and the DXR turned up all the way its still not very loud.

Are you using mic or line? I believe the manual says to use a mic level input.

Hi JackB,
Inverted the phase on the Play Acoustic. That seemed to fix the issue. Now I just added a little compression and it’s good.

Thanks for your input.

Marty

I'm using line. When I switched to mic I could only get to roughly the same volume as line before I'm getting serious feedback.
Thanks for your help YamahaGuy much appreciated!

I know it's a few years later, but page 6 of the setup, with the latest firmware allows the user to switch off th global guitar fx, and consequently save guitar settings to each preset.

Hi, I'm reading about the Play Acoustic and the Play GTX and have some questions:

- does the Acoustic have the same vocal presets of the GTX (Elvis, Barry white for ex.)

- does the Acoustic use the guitar to follow harmonies like the GTX.

- does the Bodyrez make difference for better on an overall sound compared with the GTX.

- how the Acoustic works with a Godin Multiac?!

- was the Acoustic launched later than the GTX and so the algorithm more recent?

- is the GTX retired?

Many thanks in advance

Yes. Through their voice support app, you can download 500 more.

Yes.

Yes.

- how the Acoustic works with a Godin

No experience with this.

- was the Acoustic launched later than the GTX and so the algorithm more recent?

Yes and several updates to the operating system , but only for the Play Acoustic
.
- is the GTX retired?

Yes, I have not seen any updates in the operating system in many years. The Play Acoustic and the Play Electric replaced this.

Many thanks in advance
Hope this helps some.

Default Using Play Acoustic with different systems/guitars

1) This pedal is instrument specific, if I plug in another guitar from the stable I have to mess with the eq and it's a PITA. It doesn't save guitar presets.

2) This pedal is system specific. If I switch it from amp to mixer to powered speaker I have to eq the pedal and system. It would be a nightmare if I was to take it to an open mic and try to plug into the host system.

This pedal is nice if you are using one guitar and plugging into one system.
I am very interested in hearing other responses to this post. My concern is more with )2 than 1. Have other forum members used this pedal successfully in open mic settings? Have results been good, bad, or in between? I have one but haven’t used it much. When I bought it I was looking forward to using it in open mic settings, but I’ve read what this poster said more than once. If there are forum members who are using it successfully in these settings, what are your tips for doing so?

The Play Acoustic would be rather clumsy to bring to Open Mics. You would need the host to give you a clean channel and an XLR cable to go from your combined output of the Play Acoustic into his sound system. Then he would have to make everything flat on that channel so you can use your settings of your play acoustic. Doable, but kind of a hassle. Most Open Mics you are handed a 1/4 guitar cable and you plug into your guitar and go.

True, but I see plenty of people using some pretty complicated pedal boards.

A pedal board is different. Usually it will just need the usual guitar cable. The play acoustic needs a XLR cable and then a separate channel that is set up flat so it doesn't interfere with your settings. I guess if you bring your own guitar cable and a XLR cable, you can ask the host to plus it into a free channel. Way too much hassle just for a few songs IMO.
