Default Endpins for acoustics with PUP installed.

I was wondering if anybody has 'solved' this...

All of my acoustics I have ever owned that had decent PUPs installed always have this one little flaw. The endpin jack for the PUP is NOT a really good strap holder and if you are strapped up but not plugged in the guitar feels extraordinarily precarious with just that little ridge of metal between me and disaster (dropping the guitar).

I do like playing standing up... Is there any gizmo or part that is available that could solve this problem?

I have a new om28. I haven't installed anything, but was thinking of dropping in a K&K pure mini. I don't trust that little end johnny like I would a regular strap button.... but I don't want two holes in the guitar (regular strap button plus PUP end)

IDEAS?

thanks

for a standard jack:

for a taylor

then you can put a shcaller strap lock on the jack end of the strap that locks in place to either of these

it will NEVER slip off.

and connect them to this adapter from music nomad

If I am understanding the issue; I’ve purchased 2 “Martin” straps. I mixed up the parts because I don’t think it was terribly comfortable, but the thick leather Martin uses, along with the wide strap button hole- It almost snaps in perfectly.

I will say using K&K systems, they seem to have a good ring for the strap.

Also, the Lakota leather strap is extremely good and tight-fitting even after a few years so far.

So might be a strap issue more than endpin issue.

Lakota Leathers is hard to beat for quality!

Two holes is the best holes. When I order a custom guitar, I always have the builder install a separate jack and endpin.

Like many things over the decades, WHM convinced me it was the way to go.

Otherwise, when not plugged in, the "Strap Jack" works pretty well at providing a lot more retention.

I have used these on guitars I felt were less than secure without a jack in. Works perfectly.

I am just working to resolve this as well. I just ordered two straps from italiastraps where I asked them to enlarge the holes for the endpins jack. We will see if this works.

I am also going to order a couple of those strapjacks as they look like a good idea.

I've installed the Music Nomad Acousti-Loc on both my acoustics. It's designed to work with or without Schaller strap locks.

I, too, use the Tapastring device on a couple of my instruments.
