I love my Teles. One is not even a Fender, it's a G&L ASAT USA. This Mexican Fender Baja is still the best IMHO.

Yes it’s a D’Pergo Sig Ltd and it is a joy to play and sounds amazing.

I think which Fender classic guitar to buy depends on a person's tastes and ears as well as playing style.

I know a guy who bought both, told me he could never connect to the Tele and then sold me that. So I got my Tele at a good price. I also have two Strats.

I personally like both, but I think the Stratocaster sound appeals to more players.

My son has played his Strat for decades but just recently he got a very good price on a used Tele. He loves it. I think once a person learns to understand how to play an electric guitar, then he/she can really enjoy both the Strat and the Tele. In the beginning while a person is learning, I think a Strat provides more immediate enjoyment, however. YMMV, of course.

Have both and both are heavily modded mia peaveys (Predator and Reactor both with have maple predator necks). Prefer the strat most days because of the lower wind pu's and the Garcia middle pu tones. But on other days the slightly hotter pu's of the tele are alot of fun. Then again have toyed with the idea of putting a middle sc pu and a 5-way in the tele like a nashville.

i have both (sorta)- fender partscaster and tele build- i prefer---- well both LOL, actually i have a squire modified 51 which is a combo of both guitars, its amazing and would probably be my favorite if id play it, but i only take it out couple time a years for exercise, for some stupid reason im keeping it looking mint, the plastic is still on the pickguard

If I had to have just one electric it would be have to be a tele, no question.

The thing is when I play my strat it always sounds like me playing a strat while a tele just sounds like me.

Sometime within the last year, someone here on the forum posted a link to a youtube video that gave a great back and forth comparison of tele vs strat, that went through all the sound combinations ans pros & cons of each. I wish I had bookmarked it, but maybe some diligent searching will turn it up.

I have one of each and if I had to have just one, it would be slight edge to the tele. But the strat looks cooler, and thats not insignificant.

Tele.
Pandemic boredom got me interested in building one. It came out pretty good. I changed the neck pickup out to something better. Sounds great.plays like butter.

I have built my own partscasters for over 25 years now, so get a hardtail strat body from Warmouth with a universal route, and order a pickguard with a tele bridge cutout. You get the tele bridge and the strat neck, with the bridge/middle out of phase tone. This is a very useful guitar. If you go trem, it loses a lot of that tele attack.

But mostly I go tele. Roll your own, get what you want.

What does that hot tele bridge pup do to the #2 strat sound? I play a hardtail strat and I’m much more into strats than teles, but for playing a bridge pickup on its own, well, I think that’s why god (or Leo) saw fit to invent the tele first. But being a strat guy, I love the 2 and 4 and wouldn’t want to sacrifice much of that #2 quack for a hotter bridge sound...
