I agree that the guitar on the recording sounds good, but if peruse other guitar demos done by this musician you'll find that he can make most any guitar sound great because he is a great player ......

Hey, Iris guitars even sound good in my hands - and believe me, that says a LOT about Iris guitars. If it sounds good with me playing, it must really be something special!

I have not heard or played one that did not sound outstanding. Adam has come up with a great formula for tone and playability. They aren't fancy or necessarily attractive for that matter, but if you are looking for and like a "played in" vintage tone, an Iris should definitely be on your short list!

Adam and Dale see eye-to-eye on the build: They aim for a thin top, heavier bracing and a really thin finish.

My Fairbanks F-35 has the same basic sound. What amazes me is when I play it at the bridge, it's almost like I applied a distortion pedal to it - the instrument growls!

With luck, I will be taking a trip up to Burlington VT in the spring and will take copious photos, etc.

Rick

I have no doubt that these guitars sound nice but it reminds me of this story: Chet Atkins was playing his guitar when someone remarked, ‘that guitar sounds great!’ Mr. Atkins immediately stopped playing and asked, ‘how does it sound now?’
