This would be interesting.

You should edge closer to him, lower your voice to a whisper, and ask “Alright, off the record, (*repeat whatever question you just asked*)?”

I imagine that if he didn’t want the job or feel he could make a difference and carry on the legacy so to speak he would have turned it down.

Ask him if Taylor would consider opening a factory in the UK now that the GBP is heading for parity with the USD.

A $3k archtop for the masses? What masses are we talking about here! Now if he produced a $300 archtop, based on the old factory built pressed-birch catalogue guitars of old, then I'd be interested.

When will you offer a humbucker as an option on your acoustics?

Default A question for Andy

I'd ask him if he has plans/drawings, etc. for an instrument that he hasn't built yet and how would he make it with his experience, materials, etc.

On a side note, it has been many years since I posted anything here but I find myself being more enamored with my guitars and pedals again, so I figure I should get a little screen time regarding what everyone is employing these days.

Years ago, Robert Taylor produced a limited run of guitars under the R. Taylor name.
These were essentially hand crafted instruments produced by a few select individuals in the plant.

Would Andy consider a boutique side line of purely acoustic guitars, a clear step apart (lighter builds, tap tuned tops,
high end woods, maybe dove tail construction etc.) from the main line production or custom order models that Taylor currently offers?

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the main issue with R Taylors was that they were not a clear step apart from ordinary Taylors. They just felt like more expensive Taylors with no discernible difference in tone and responsiveness to me despite all the marketing about solid kerflings or increased time spent building them.

Ask him when he is going to open the store in El Cajon (San Diego) again - it's been closed for years.

I occasionally see a kid with a basically brand new 814CE...with an Anthem SL installed. Can one buy an 5/6/7/8/914C without it being a custom order?
