Can I replace the cone stuff in a Gretsch's 9200 with the kit from National? (hot rod)

Pretty sure the Gretsch is a spider bridge, while the National is a biscuit bridge. So I don't think they're a direct replacement for one another, at least without some modifications.

National sells replacement tricone, and biscuit cones. The replacement depends on the diameter of the cone, and most likely you will have to sand the and re-slot the biscuit to fit the height that it sits at. Many people replace the biscuit along with the cone.

If it's a spider cone, go here and buy a Beard cone...

the 9200 is a spider cone, I would go with the beard cone.

You might have to "slightly" (very slightly) modify the cone to make it fit, this is normal.

This is not a bad rundown of the process I think. If you are going to swap the cone, check the bridge and the spider as well.

Is Quarterman still around? I use hear them regularly when looking to upgrade cones on less expensive resos. Both spider and biscuits, I think. They might make something that fits without alteration.
